Hi everybody, sorry, it has been a while, I've been busy lately. Tonight my idea was to talk about soccer games and some stuff for the exchange students but then I though it would be better to do two different posts so in this one I can tell you some important things about Senior that probably you don't know and that are important if you wanna be an exchange. 
First of all, real quick, I'd like to remember you that seniors are the twelfth graders, the students that are attending the fourth and last year of high school in the United States. The major thing about seniors is probably the graduation, a ceremony at the end of the year where you receive your diploma that allows you to go to the college. Here it's not like in Italy, there aren't exams to pass the twelfth grade, to get the diploma you just need enough credits that you get in the four years. The students can make their own plan of studies and get different kind of diplomas, for some is required a AP (Advanced Program) or IB (International Baccalaureate) level for some classes, or three year of Spanish and a lot more. As senior you have some privileges, like you can go off campus during lunch or during your free periods that are hours when you don't have class and you can do whatever you want. These two together with go to the Prom and be able to get a licence, as you have just to be sixteen here, are actually privileges that also juniors have. Your Class is based on the year when you graduate, like mine is Class Of '16. Something really interesting that I didn't know it's that lot of seniors have two or three free periods because they already have enough credits to graduated so they don't need to take all the classes. I think this it's not really good because they could take other classes and learn something else.
The last thing I wanted to tell you is that if you want to and you take extra classes at higher levels you can graduate early, in the junior year, if you have enough credits, and go to college one year earlier. Basically you can do one year less of high school.

Ciao a tutti, scusate se non ho scritto per un po', sono stato occupato ultimamente. Stasera la mia idea era di scrivere riguardo alle partite di calcio e alcune cose per gli exchange ma poi ho pensato che è meglio separare quindi ho deciso di parlare solo di cosa comporta essere un senior, cose importanti se volete diventare exchange.
Prima di tutto, molto veloce, vi vorrei ricordare che i senior sono gli studenti al dodicesimo grado, cioè al quarto e ultimo anno di scuola superiore negli Stati Uniti. La cosa più importante riguardo i senior è la graduation, una cerimonia alla fine dell'anno dove viene consegnato il diploma che permette di andare all'università. Qui non è come in Italia, non ci sono esami alla fine dell'anno, per ottenere il diploma devi semplicemente avere un numero minimo di crediti collezionati in 4 anni. Gi studenti possono fare i propri piani di studi e ottenere diversi tipi di diploma, alcuni richiedono un livello AP cioè avanzato di alcune materie, altri tre anni di spagnolo e altri altre cose, I senior hanno alcuni privilegi come andare fuori dalla scuola a pranzo e durante i periodi liberi, cioè ore in cui non hai lezione e puoi fare ciò che vuoi, incluso andare a casa. Questi due vantaggi insieme ad andare al prom e avere la possibilità di ottenere la patente, visto che qui basta avere sedici anni sono privilegi che hanno anche i junior. La tua classe è basata sull'anno in cui ti diplomi, la mia è Classe Del '16. Una cosa molto interessante che io non sapevo è che molti seniors hanno due o tre periodi liberi perchè hanno già abbastanza crediti per diplomarsi perciò non hanno bisogno di avere tutte le lezioni. Penso che non sia del tutto una bella cosa perché potrebbero prendere altre materie e imparare qualcosa d'altro.
L'ultima cosa che volevo dirvi è che se si vuole e se si fanno classi in più a livelli avanzati ci si può diplomare prima, nell'anno dei juniors, se si hanno abbastanza crediti, e andare prima all'università. Praticamente si può fare un anno in meno di scuola superiore.
